Op 5 november 2020 promoveerde Frank van Boven aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam op het proefschrift getiteld ‘Evidence-based effectiveness of indoor environmental control for the treatment of allergic asthma: Focus on house dust mite allergy’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder supervisie van promotoren prof. dr. R. Gerth van Wijk en prof. dr. L.R. Arends, en copromotoren dr. N.W. de Jong en dr. G.J. Braunstahl. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
