Op 13 december 2010 promoveerde drs. F. Volbeda aan de Universiteit van Groningen op het proefschrift getiteld The link of asthma outcome with AMP responsiveness and airway pathology. Zijn promotors waren prof. dr. D.S. Postma en prof. dr. W. Timens en zijn copromotor was dr. N.H.T. ten Hacken. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen van zijn promotieonderzoek weergegeven.
