In 2023 heeft de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Dermatologie en Venereologie de richtlijn ‘Management van de acute fase van vertraagd type overgevoeligheidsreacties op geneesmiddelen’ afgerond. In de richtlijn worden klinische subtypen van geneesmiddelenreacties, het effect van het label ‘geneesmiddelenallergie’ en aanvullend onderzoek, inclusief allergologisch onderzoek besproken. Tevens worden aanbevelingen gedaan omtrent de identificatie van het causale geneesmiddel en wordt de optie van een ‘treating through’-beleid besproken. Tot slot wordt de behandeling van drie belangrijke geneesmiddelenreacties besproken: het maculopapuleus exantheem (MPE), de ‘drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms’ (DRESS) en acute gegeneraliseerde exanthemateuze pustulose (AGEP).
